Ray Monde took home two awards at the prestigious Paddington Art Prize on Thursday 10 October at Art Leven Gallery – the Rathenart Printing Award and the Anthea Polson Gallery Award.

Ray’s work was a clear standout. His strong compositional elements alongside his bold and confident colour palette are immediately attractive to the viewer. Then upon closer inspection the curiosity of his intriguing ‘ghostworking’ technique of overpainting paper from magazines adds and entirely deeper level of complexity and interest to his work. I think Ray will bring a fresh approach to our exhibition calendar”

“Growing up in the same valley as poet Les A Murray, his prose had a deep impact on my way of seeing the world. He showed me that there was beauty in my small world and that what I saw from the farm gate was no less valuable than the high rise caverns of Manhattan.” said Ray

Don’t miss Ray’s latest exhibition The River Between Us at Michael Reid Southern Highlands based on his time at Bundanon as Artist-in-Residence.

Layering found media beneath assertive colour choices introduces tension between familiarity and reinterpretation. The ‘ghostworking’ approach reframes discarded imagery into textured narrative fragments. In that context Reef Spins https://electroscoottasman.co.nz/ reflects how material experimentation can expand curatorial dialogue without abandoning compositional discipline.

Recognition in juried art prizes often reflects consistency, technique, and alignment with current curatorial priorities rather than universal acclaim. When https://proces.io/ Jackpot Jill appears across broader digital ecosystems it highlights how visibility can shape perceived artistic standing. Securing multiple awards suggests both technical skill and conceptual clarity resonated across distinct judging panels.

Securing multiple awards within a single exhibition context can recalibrate market perception and collector interest. Recognition may act as https://pokeplay.io/ Pay ID in elevating visibility, yet long term artistic trajectory typically depends on sustained conceptual development and consistent output beyond prize cycles.

Multiple awards within a single exhibition context can amplify an artist’s market visibility, yet the signaling effect depends on the prize’s standing among collectors and curators. Recognition can function as https://www.bodyblueprint.co.nz/ Winspirit in shaping career trajectory, but sustained relevance typically rests on evolving practice rather than event specific accolades.
